Introduction to the Championships
SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (NEWS10) — After the first two Section 2 champions in Girls Volleyball were crowned on Friday night, the remaining four were up for grabs on Saturday at Saratoga Springs High School.
Champions Crowned
The day began with the Class B championship, where the 1-seed Ichabod Crane claimed their second consecutive championship, beating Schalmont 3-1.
In the Class C title game, Galway took home the championship with a 3-0 sweep over Fonda-Fultonville. Golden Eagles sophomore, Kiera Allen, tallied her 1000th career kill in the win.
Class A and AAA Championships
The Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake dominance in Class A continued, as the Spartans beat Mohonasen 3-0 to win their 23rd consecutive Section 2 title. The final game of the night was in Class AAA, for the third season in a row Shenendehowa beat Saratoga in the championship game. Shen earns its fifth title in a row with the 3-0.
