Thief Escapes with Hundreds of Dollars Worth of Merchandise
Police are searching for a woman who escaped with hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise from a Target store in Santa Ana, Orange County.
How the Theft Occurred
The theft took place earlier in February at a Target store located at 3300 S. Bristol St. in Santa Ana, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.
Surveillance video captured the suspect browsing store shelves, grabbing a large amount of beauty products and clothing, and placing them into a shopping cart.
She began secretly placing merchandise into a large tote bag on her shoulder, making sure other customers didn’t spot her.
Attempted to Flee the Scene
After placing the stolen goods in her bag, she headed towards the exit, left her shopping cart, and quickly ran outside, only to be confronted by a security officer.
The woman managed to run away from security and fled the area before police could arrive.
Description of the Suspect
Police describe the suspect as a white female, approximately 20-25 years old, 5 feet 3 inches tall, and wearing a white crop top and loose brown pants.
