The March 2, 2024 collision killed Alejandra Olaez Gomez, 33, of Pomona, her sister-in-law Yesenia Ochoa Olaez, 33, of Pomona and a family friend, Lorena Morales, 58, of Montclair. (Morales was identified by the medical examiner’s office as Lorena Peru.)
Alejandro Olaez Gomez’s then 12-year-old daughter and Morales’ husband were also injured in the crash, police said.
The victims were in a Corolla heading north on White Avenue when a Toyota 4Runner, going eastbound on Phillips Boulevard, ran a red light and collided with the car, said Aly Mejia, spokeswoman for the Pomona Police Department.
The Corolla then struck a light pole. Officers arrested Siharath who was the SUV’s driver.
Aftermath and Sentencing
He will be sentenced Sept. 18 at Pomona Superior Court, Risling said.
As of Thursday, he was being held at the North County Correctional Facility in Castaic without bail.
