Turns out Globe Life Field and its retractable roof aren’t completely weather-proof after all. In advance of forecasts that call for a potential winter storm for North Texas Friday through Sunday, the Texas Rangers announced Tuesday that they will cancel this year’s Fan Fest and all events that had been scheduled over the course of the weekend. In addition to FanFest, which was scheduled for Saturday, the Rangers had three Winter Warm Up fan engagement events scheduled on Friday and Sunday.

An arctic intrusion — in which winds from the Arctic region travel toward mid-latitude areas — will lead to dangerously cold temperatures and impactful wintry precipitation starting Friday, continuing into the weekend. According to the National Weather Service, Friday temperatures are expected to drop into the upper and mid-20s with further deterioration on Saturday that could include rain, sleet and snow. Temperatures are not expected to get above freezing from late Friday until Monday.

We will continue to seek opportunities to deliver for our fans and we look forward to the start of the 2026 season.”
