Lt. Chad Cooley, a spokesman for the Cedar Hill Police Department, said officers were dispatched about 1:50 a.m. to a home on Sleepy Hollow Drive after a 911 caller reported “individuals were attempting to harm his family.”
Dispatchers later received a second 911 call from a woman at the same location. During that call, Cooley said, they heard what was believed to be a gunshot.

According to Cooley, gunfire erupted again when officers arrived on scene, and two officers returned fire.
