Burleson police are investigating a man they say shot another driver in a Whataburger parking lot Sunday following a road rage incident.
The suspected shooter has yet to be arrested as police continue to investigate the incident that started Sunday afternoon in the 500 block of Wilshire Boulevard in Burleson, said Collin Gregory, a spokesman for the Burleson Police Department.
What Happened
The two men were driving northbound when they got into an argument and pulled into a nearby Whataburger, Gregory said. The altercation escalated when one of the men pulled out a gun and shot the other, according to Gregory.
Neither man’s name was released.
Aftermath of the Incident
The suspected shooter got back into his vehicle before driving to another parking lot about 50 feet away, calling 911 and waiting for officers, Gregory said.
The man who was shot walked into the Whataburger and asked for help. He was later taken to a hospital in stable condition, Gregory said, and released Monday.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Gregory said police were reviewing surveillance video, interviewing witnesses and continuing to collect information that will be sent to the Johnson County District Attorney’s Office to determine if charges will be filed.
