It’s time to bring the rain jackets back out.
Storms are forecast to move into North Texas in the late afternoon, around 5 p.m. at DFW International Airport, according to the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office. There is a possibility of isolated instances of large hail and heavy rainfall.

The weather service issued a flood watch Wednesday afternoon for parts of Central Texas, including Waco, Killeen and Temple, effective midnight through Friday morning.

Expected Rainfall and Flooding
Areas to the south of Dallas-Fort Worth should expect two rounds of heavy rain, one late this evening and another tomorrow afternoon and night.
“The main threat tonight will be urban flooding and minor flooding of flood prone locations,” the weather service said in its flood watch Wednesday. “The flash flood threat will be higher tomorrow afternoon and night when additional heavy rain moves over already water loaded soils.”

In North Texas, the rain is expected to continue all day Thursday. Most areas are expected to get 1 to 2 inches of rain. Isolated flooding is possible in areas with heavier downpours, the weather service said.
Rain chances are expected to start falling early Friday morning, with mostly clear skies by midmorning.
