Tuesday Night and Wednesday Forecast
TUESDAY NIGHT/OVERNIGHT: Breezy and cool with showery spells continuing, perhaps an isolated thunderstorm in spots. Winds: East 12-25 mph. Low: 48.
Another damp, dreary day is on tap Wednesday as a slow-moving low pressure system traverses the metro area and moves into the Ohio Valley Wednesday afternoon.
Showers will be fairly light and sporadic, with noticeable gaps in between the rain, but the predominantly overcast skies will prevail yet again.
Temperatures will hold fairly steady throughout the day in the lower to middle 50s, a far cry from the low 70s that are typical for this time of year.

Heat will be confined to the Southwest and South into Florida while unseasonably cool air continues to dominate the Upper Midwest.

Looking Ahead
Lingering cloud cover and perhaps a few light showers will be possible Thursday morning before we begin to dry out. Rain chances drop precipitously by Thursday afternoon and that trend should continue as we move toward the long holiday weekend.
Temperatures in the 80s and 90s remain suppressed in the U.S. Southwest, Texas and Florida. Cooler, but fairly comfortable period ahead for the vast majority of the population heading towards the end of the month.
Upper Level Weather Pattern next 10 days
A trough over the Great Lakes moves into the Northeast this weekend and is likely to be replaced by yet another one a few days later.
Ridging over Canada doesn’t help warm up the top half of the Lower 48 with troughs and cooler air keeping it fairly comfortable through the end of May.
Looking ahead at the next 15 days at five-day intervals, a cool pattern persists across the Midwest and Northeast the next 10-days before a return of warmer weather as we close out May and open June.
