CAMBRIDGE, NY (NEWS10) — In a rematch of last year’s Class D Section 2 final, Greenwich took down Cambridge\/Salem once again, this time by a score of 21-7, to improve to 3-0 on the season.

\nCambridge\/Salem got out of the gates strong, marching right down the field and taking an early 7-0 lead on a toss to Abraham Cushing. The defending champs did not back down, marching right down the field on their opening possession and scoring on a Ryan Ingber QB draw. A missed PAT would make the score 7-6.<\/p>\n
The defenses got going from that point on. Kaden Bentley grabbed an interception for the Witches, but Cushing would make a crucial stop on fourth down for Cambridge\/Salem to send the game to the break at 7-6.<\/p>\n
Neither offense could get anything going in the third quarter either, meaning the final frame opened in a 1-point game. That is when Greenwich broke through on offense, when Ingber found Wyatt Jamieson in the endzone on a play action pass to put the Witches in front. The 2-point try would be successful, giving Greenwich the 14-7 lead.<\/p>\n
Now in need of an answer, Cambridge\/Salem looked to respond and looked to have found a bit of a rhythm early on their next drive. But faced with a 4th down they went to the ground, but Langston Hall would shoot the gap for Greenwich and make the tackle for a loss, forcing a turnover on downs.<\/p>\n
The Witches offense would go right back to work, driving right down the field, capping off the victory with a Will Weber touchdown to put the game away.<\/p>\n
