Benintendi drove in a pair with a one-out RBI single, scoring Mike Tauchman, who walked, and Miguel Vargas, who doubled.<\/p>\n
Brett Baty\u2019s throwing error from third base and Jeff McNeil\u2019s booted grounder at second put the White Sox\u2019s two lead-off men on in the second. They came around to score on Tauchman\u2019s double down the right-field line \u2014 both unearned on Canning\u2019s ledger. \u201cWe have to be better,\u201d Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said. \u201cWe made some mistakes that, especially at this level, if you give the other team some extra outs, it changes the whole game. We\u2019ve got good defenders\u2026 A play that we don\u2019t make, they made us pay for it.\u201d<\/p>\n
