Brooklyn detectives are investigating a double shooting near a basketball court on Friday afternoon that left two people injured.<\/p>\n
Police said the gun violence erupted near the corner of Prospect Place and Schenectady Avenue, near St. John\u2019s Park, in Crown Heights at about 5:35 p.m. on May 16. One man said he was standing at the intersection when he heard the gunshots ring out: \u201cI had to hit the deck and get low. That was a lot of shots.\u201d<\/p>\n Based on a preliminary investigation, police sources said a male suspect had been observed fleeing on foot eastbound along Prospect Place. The motive for Friday\u2019s shooting remains unknown and under investigation. No arrests have been made thus far in the ongoing investigation, police said.
