Queens-born top chef Gregory Gourdet will be serving French-inspired fare that draws on his Haitian roots in side Printemps. <span class=\"credit\">Brian Zak\/NY Post<\/span><br \/>\n\u201cI love fashion and with my Haitian heritage, and starting my career in French fine dining, it all really made sense.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Printemps Food and Beverage Hotspots<\/h2>\n<p>Gourdet will oversee five food and beverage hotspots across two floors at Printemps, which means spring in French and officially opens its doors Thursday \u2014 the first day of spring \u2014 at the landmark One Wall Street skyscraper.<br \/>\nThe department store features an all-day caf\u00e9, a champagne bar and a raw bar \u2013 as well as Maison Passerelle, an 85-seat fine-dining restaurant that comes with its own separate entrance on Broadway.<\/p>\n<h2>Revitalizing the Neighborhood<\/h2>\n<p>Touted as the biggest retail and restaurant opening in New York since the creation of Hudson Yards, the shopping mecca will also hopefully revitalize a neighborhood hard hit by the work-from-home phenomenon that followed the COVID pandemic.<br \/>\nDuring a soft opening on Tuesday, Keillie O\u2019Malley, 37, and her friend Kiera Elliott, 28, were among those who popped into the stylish Champagne Bar. The pair were celebrating Elliott\u2019s upcoming marriage.<br \/>\nThe Champagne Bar, near the spa and beauty treatment area of the store, also has zero-proof options, mocktails and green juices. <span class=\"credit\">Brian Zak\/NY Post<\/span><br \/>\nThe Salon Vert, a 32-seat raw bar on the second floor. <span class=\"credit\">Brian Zak\/NY Post<\/span><br \/>\n\u201cWe\u2019re doing some window shopping, some wedding shopping and some drinking,\u201d said O\u2019Malley, who lives in FiDi. \u201cEveryone gives this area a hard time. It was very commuter, but it\u2019s starting to get a personality. I hope this will help [the area] get nicer.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Fine Dining Experience<\/h2>\n<p>Elliott, who lives nearby in Battery City, added: \u201cIt feels more elevated \u2014 something new and exciting to the neighborhood, bringing some romance to the area.\u201d<br \/>\nThe \u201csip and shop\u201d destination even has roaming Champagne bar carts and a spot to hold the pricey flutes in each dressing room.<br \/>\nThe department store features an all-day caf\u00e9, a champagne bar and a raw bar \u2013 as well as Maison Passerelle, an 85-seat fine-dining restaurant that comes with its own separate entrance on Broadway. <span class=\"credit\">Brian Zak\/NY Post<\/span><br \/>\n\u201cWhat we are doing here is really special. It\u2019s a fashion and food and beverage\/hospitality experience, and all those pieces interplay with each other very well,\u201d said Gourdet, who got his start working for Michelin-starred globally acclaimed chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten.<\/p>\n<h2>Printemps Features<\/h2>\n<p>\u201cPeople are walking around drinking Champagne while shopping, which is perfect, and they\u2019re also eating oysters and shrimp cocktail on the other side of the space. I think it\u2019s cool.\u201d<br \/>\nAlong with Maison Passerelle, which opens in April, Printemps features the 25-seat all-day restaurant, Caf\u00e9 Jalu \u2013 named after the retailer\u2019s founders Jules and Augustine Jaluzot.<br \/>\nIt offers fresh juices, viennoiserie and pastries, including many gluten and dairy free options.<br \/>\nPrintemps opens Thursday at the landmark One Wall Street skyscraper. <span class=\"credit\">Brian Zak\/NY Post<\/span><br \/>\n\u2018We want this to be everyone\u2019s favorite coffee shop in the neighborhood. The coffee is fantastic.
