### Eligibility for Pre-K and 3-K in NYC

All children in New York City aged 3 or 4 are eligible for 3-K and Pre-K, regardless of immigration status.

### Programs are Free and Include:

* 6.5 hours of care per day
* Early education programs include services for children with disabilities, English language learning support, and care for students in temporary housing.

### Applying to Pre-K

Families can apply for Pre-K programs through one of the following options:

* Online using the NYC Schools website: Visit the myNYCSchools website to apply, select a program and ranking, and complete the online application.
* Phone by calling the NYC Education hotline: Families can call (718) 935-2009 to receive interpretation services during their application submission.
* In-Person by visiting a Family Welcome Center: Individuals can visit Family Welcome Centers and work with center staff to submit applications.

## Creating an Application and Ranking Program Choices

During the application period, families create a MySchools account to list and rank programs of their preference. Last year, an unlimited number of programs could be chosen, eliminating a previous requirement. Families receive admission offers to selected programs as follows:

## 2024-2026 Admissions Offers and Waitlisting Process

Offers to selected Pre-K programs begin after the close of the application period. Accepted candidates receive invitations and are welcome to accept via e-mail, mail, or by phone call.

#### Changing Information After Acceptance
For families applying in person at the Family Welcome Centers, name or address information updates can occur prior to completing their application during business hours (if available.)
