ALBANY, N.Y. – Two local cities, Troy and Albany, have been awarded up to $2 million in state funding to reduce gun violence through Project RISE: Respond, Invest, Sustain, Empower. This program aims to support community-based organizations that offer mentoring and youth development services.

- Boys and Girls Club of the Capital Area: $500,000, retaining $375,000 and distributing $125,000 to Come Connect Church, Capital Rep on behalf of Black Seeds Youth Theatre Group and the Red Bookshelf
- Albany Community Land Trust: $500,000, retaining $290,000 and distributing $210,000 to Hoods House of Hoops, Baby Institute Inc. and the Frank Chapman Memorial Institute
- Albany Trinity Alliance: $500,000, retaining $217,901 and distributing $282,099 to Bridge Tha Gap and AVillage Inc.
