Four People Injured in Norwalk House Fire
The Norwalk Fire Department responded to a reported fire at a home on Forbell Drive on Wednesday night, resulting in the evacuation of four residents and the injury of three.
Initial Response and Findings
Crews were called to the scene just after 5:30 p.m. and discovered a wheelchair-bound elderly resident trapped inside the home. Firefighters reported heavy smoke coming from the front door and fire coming out of windows at the back of the house.
Rescue Efforts
Two people were found unable to escape, one lying on the floor and the other on a couch. Firefighters quickly extricated them from the home. Two other residents were able to escape before the fire department’s arrival.
Injuries and Hospitalization
Three of the four residents were hospitalized to treat smoke inhalation, while a fourth person was transported for further evaluation. The extent of their injuries is currently unknown.
