GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -It has been a week since Michelle McFarren was found deceased in a burning clothing bin at the Talk of the Town restaurant parking lot. Those that knew her still have many questions including how she got inside the donation bin in the first place.

Michelle’s daughters told NEWS10’s Anthony Krolikowski that communication has been slow between family and the Glens Falls Police Department. That’s why around 50 people gathered outside City Hall to voice concerns and chant for justice.

The Protest and Demands for Justice

“She was just the laugh of the party and sometimes people think when we mean party we mean out getting intoxicated and falling down and all that. She was just happy all the time so she’s up there, god bless her. Shine bright like a diamond baby,” said Kimberly Ouderkerk, a family friend.
Specifically, protesters want to know more about 911 calls made around the time the bin was found on fire. They told NEWS10 those calls were made by McFarren. “We’re concerned that there’s maybe, we don’t know, are we in danger in the public?” asked Ouderkerk.

Investigation and 911 Calls

Police did confirm that two 911 calls were made a few hours before her body was found. In a joint statement, the City and Police Department sent the following:
A City official clarified that the 911 calls were not related to the clothing bin fire. NEWS10 also sent the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, which handles 911 dispatch there, a FOIL request for the call recordings.
