Aftermath and Investigation

EMS rushed the victim to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Police have not yet released the victim’s identity, pending family notification.
The motive for the shooting was not immediately known, police sources said Saturday.
So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation, police said. Cops are looking for a suspect described as a man with a dark complexion and dreadlocks, who wore a red-and-white checkered jacket, and was seen fleeing eastbound toward South Street after the shots were fired.
