Bronx detectives are searching for the individual responsible for shooting and killing a 33-year-old man at a public housing complex on Saturday morning. The incident occurred on October 26 at approximately 1:53 a.m. at the Boston Secor Houses at 3475 Bivona St. in the Edenwald neighborhood.

Preliminary Investigation Underway

Initial findings suggest that the victim, whose identity has been withheld pending family notification, was involved in a dispute with an unknown suspect when he was shot and killed. Responding officers from the 47th Precinct and NYPD PSA 8 found the victim with a bullet wound to his chest. He was rushed to Jacobi Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The 47th Precinct has reported a decline in crime rates, with five homicides through October 20, half the total reported at the same point in 2023. Shootings have also decreased by 37.9% this year, with 18 incidents reported, compared to 29 at the same point last year.
