\nAvril Lavigne, the eight-time Grammy-nominated songstress of the early aughts, has partnered with Geyserville\u2019s Banshee Wines to produce a limited-release Pinot Noir from Alexander Valley.<\/p>\n
(Incidentally, Lavigne \u2013 or \u201cla vigne\u201d in French \u2013 means \u201cvine\u201d or \u201cvineyard,\u201d a detail my high school French teacher would be delighted to know I noticed on my own.)
\nLavigne, who has sold 50 million albums worldwide, broke onto the music scene in 2002 with the hit single \u201cComplicated.\u201d The song catapulted the Canadian-born singer into the mainstream and has since been certified three times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.<\/p>\n
Named in honor of the smash hit, \u201cComplicated,\u201d the wine is being released following Lavigne\u2019s successful North American Greatest Hits Tour, where Banshee was the official wine sponsor.
\n\u201cI rocked out with Banshee Wines backstage every night,\u201d said Lavigne. \u201cSo teaming up with the brand to produce my own wine just felt right.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cComplicated\u201d enters a competitive market, joining the ranks of other celebrity wines as many brands face challenging conditions and shifting consumer trends. A limited number (50) of \u201cSip and Spin\u201d kits will also be available for purchase and include a record player and vinyl copy of Lavigne\u2019s 2002 \u201cLet Go\u201d album.
