(But please don\u2019t contact us: The Sun Sentinel doesn\u2019t inspect restaurants.)<\/p>\n<h4>BROWARD COUNTY<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Matchbox<\/strong><br \/>1860 Sawgrass Mills Circle, #5100, Sunrise<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ordered shut<\/strong>: June 19<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why<\/strong>: 15 violations (11 high-priority), including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>About 48 live flies \u201cin upstairs bar\/prep kitchen area landing on walls and bar counter,\u201d \u201cin the downstairs dishwashing\/prep\/ storage area landing on clean dishes and single-service containers,\u201d \u201cin downstairs dry storage area landing on boxes of single- service items and boxes of food,\u201d \u201cat downstairs cook line area landing on cook line counter\u201d and \u201cat downstairs dining room bar landing on open\/in-use liquor bottles and bar counter.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Stop sale ordered on vodka sauce, ribs, sliced cheese, diced tomatoes, deviled eggs, chimichurri, and oil and garlic for temperature abuse.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cAt cook line area, employee handled raw beef then changed their gloves and started plating food for order without washing their hands.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cAt dishwashing station, employee touched their face then proceeded to handle clean plates without washing their hands.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Temperature abuse on raw shell eggs and chicken wings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Status<\/strong>: Remained closed on June 20 after a follow-up inspection found two high-priority violations. Reopened later that day after a third visit found no violations.<\/p>\n<h4>PALM BEACH COUNTY<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Winston On The Greens<\/strong><br \/>6101 Winston Trails Blvd., Lake Worth<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ordered shut<\/strong>: June 19<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why<\/strong>: 18 violations (seven high-priority), including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>About 57 rodent droppings in kitchen areas such as \u201con server expo counter next to clean and sanitized coffee cups\u201d and \u201con floor behind reach-in cooler next to dry storage area,\u201d at the bar \u201cunder soda dispenser,\u201d \u201cunder cabinets by cigar box\u201d and \u201cunder bar top on floor,\u201d at the golf cart shack \u201con floor in food preparation area under sink and dry storage shelves\u201d and \u201cnext to back door on ground.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Two live flies \u201clanding on food preparation tables.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Two dead insects \u201con floor in front of reach-in cooler next to back door\u201d in the kitchen.<\/li>\n<li>One dead roach \u201cin golf cart food shack in cabinets under hot dog hot-holding unit.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Stop sale ordered on six \u201cportioned commercially processed reduced oxygen packaged fish bearing a label indicating that it is to remain frozen until time of use no longer frozen and not removed from reduced oxygen package\u201d in the walk-in cooler.<\/li>\n<li>Temperature abuse on chili.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cAt fish washing area, squirt bottle of dish detergent stored with clean and sanitized dishes on speed rack.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cAccumulation of black\/green mold-like substance in the interior of the ice machine\/bin.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cEmployee handled visibly soiled dishes and without washing hands, employee handled clean and sanitized plates.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Status<\/strong>: Reopened June 20 after a second visit found one intermediate violation that required a follow-up inspection.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Amigos Mexican Spanish Restaurant<\/strong><br \/>4720 Okeechobee Blvd., West Palm Beach<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ordered shut<\/strong>: June 16<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why<\/strong>: Six violations (five high-priority), including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>About 58 rodent droppings in the kitchen \u201con dry storage area shelves\/boxes,\u201d \u201con floor in dry storage area\u201d and \u201con floor in prep\/dish machine area.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Temperature abuse on cooked onions and cooked plantains.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cVisibly soiled dry wiping cloth in use on cutting board at cook line.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Status<\/strong>: Reopened June 17 after a follow-up inspection found no violations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jersey Mike\u2019s Subs<\/strong><br \/>455-A NE Fifth Ave., Delray Beach<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ordered shut<\/strong>: June 16<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why<\/strong>: 12 violations (five high-priority), including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>13 live flies in kitchen areas such as \u201con the wall at hand sink in kitchen,\u201d \u201cunder hand sink landing on drain pipe\u201d and \u201con soap dispenser of hand sink,\u201d at the front counter \u201con to-go paper bags,\u201d \u201con loaf of bread on speed rack,\u201d \u201con wall next to speed rack with bread,\u201d \u201con register\u201d and \u201con the slicer blade at front counter.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Stop sale issued on two loaves of bread with two live flies on them.<\/li>\n<li>Temperature abuse on sliced tomatoes.<\/li>\n<li>Ice chute on self-service soda machine \u201csoiled with food debris, mold-like substance or slime.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Status<\/strong>: Reopened June 17 after a next-day visit found two basic violations.<\/p>\n<p>Originally Published: June 25, 2025 at 11:46 AM EDT<\/p>\n<p> and integrate them seamlessly into the new content without adding new <img> tags.
