SUV Theft and High-Speed Chase Ends in Crash

A Woman’s Nightmare: Stolen SUV and Financial Ruin

A Miami-Dade resident, Tamara Pierre, has been left shaken and financially devastated after her SUV was stolen and crashed into a Miami-Dade Transit bus while the thieves were trying to evade the police.

The Theft and High-Speed Chase

Pierre reported that she noticed her Honda SUV was missing from her driveway on Saturday morning, and later found out that her wallet, military ID, children’s clothes, and Christmas gifts were all stolen. She immediately contacted 911, only to receive alerts on her phone that someone was using her bank and credit cards.

The Chases and Arrests

On Monday night, the Miami Police spotted Pierre’s SUV and attempted to pull over the driver, but the driver refused to stop and led the police on a high-speed chase. The chase ended when the SUV crashed into a bus at Northwest 21st Avenue and 71st Street. Four people, including a juvenile male, were arrested: 23-year-old Jesse Wright, 26-year-old Terrick Huttoe, 19-year-old Dilmer Najar, and a juvenile male. Officers also found four rifles in the vehicle.

The Aftermath

Pierre is still waiting to recover her stolen belongings and is facing financial difficulties. "To have someone take everything you have, there’s no words to describe it," she said. "Financially it’s not a good situation for me because I have to start again." Despite the setbacks, Pierre is counting her blessings, stating, "I’m thankful I was nowhere near the vehicle because I felt like my life could be in jeopardy and I wouldn’t be alive today."
