Twin Towers to Redefine Downtown Fort Lauderdale Skyline
Introduction to Ombelle
A stunning set of twin towers slated for downtown Fort Lauderdale will rise nearly 54 stories, adding architectural drama to the city’s growing skyline.
Ombelle, a $600 million development set to open in 2028, is expected to break ground by the end of the year.
The project, led by New York developer Dependable Equities, will rise at 300 NE Third Ave. in Flagler Village, a trendy arts and entertainment district known for its tall apartment towers and vibrant street life.
Plans call for 43-story twin towers with 775 luxury condo apartments. But both towers will stand 537 feet high, the equivalent of nearly 54 stories.
Redefining the Skyline
“Ombelle will stand as one of the tallest residential buildings in downtown Fort Lauderdale,” said Kenny Drysdale, director of sales for Ombelle Fort Lauderdale. “With its two striking 43-story towers reaching an impressive height of 537 feet, this commanding presence will not only redefine the downtown Fort Lauderdale skyline but also offer residents sweeping downtown and cityscape views.”
Once they’re up, Ombelle’s towers will stand taller than 100 Las Olas, a 45-story condo tower that currently holds the title of being the tallest building in town at 499 feet.
The Ombelle towers will stand 3 feet shorter than the 46-story tower Andare Residences, set to open in 2027 at 521 E. Las Olas Blvd.
Andare’s condo tower will rise 540 feet, making it the tallest building in town. But not for long.
Downtown Fort Lauderdale has yet another skyscraping tower in the pipeline. The building, another Dependable Equities project, would soar to 563 feet (the equivalent of 56 stories) at 633 SE Third Ave., dwarfing some of its neighbors and setting a new bar as the tallest tower in the city.

Growing Demand for Luxury Living
At Ombelle, prices range from $466,000 for a studio with 465 square feet to more than $1.2 million for a three-bedroom residence with 1,400 square feet. Penthouses, priced at $5 million, will range from 2,400 square feet to 2,600 square feet, with views from downtown to the ocean.
Ombelle is the French word for umbel, a flower resembling the form of an umbrella. The landscaping will incorporate leaf canopies and shaded gathering spots, inspiring the name.
The Brooklyn-based developer brought the same elevated standards they’re known for in New York to this market, responding to the growing demand for luxury living in South Florida, Drysdale said.
Amenities and Features
The project features several high-end amenities — including the first Equinox in Broward County, a chef-driven restaurant, cocktail bar, curated retail, pickleball courts, a golf simulator, co-working lounges, podcast and music studios, a children’s playroom, an outdoor playground and a dog run.
On the Sky Deck, residents will find dual rooftop pools, a Zen garden, yoga lawn, meditation spaces and private cabanas. The Sanctuary wellness retreat will feature fitness studios, cold plunge pools, saunas and massage rooms.
The towers will offer fully finished apartments with floor-to-ceiling windows, smart home features and Italian custom-designed kitchens and bathrooms.
“Ombelle has seen a strong and diverse mix of buyer interest,” Drysdale said. “South Florida continues to face a significant lack of new construction condominiums in the $500,000 to $2 million range, and Ombelle fills that gap beautifully.”

Buyer Interest
So far, Ombelle has seen interest from local buyers eager to elevate their lifestyle without having to spend more than $2 million or leave the city they love,” Drysdale said.
“But it’s not just locals,” he said. “We’ve also had strong interest from the Northeast, West Coast and internationally. Buyers are drawn not only to the design-forward architecture and curated amenities, but also to the exceptional value and unbeatable location — walking distance to downtown and Las Olas.”
Owners will be permitted to rent their units, but not nightly. Any rentals must be for a minimum of 30 days.
Drysdale described Ombelle as more than just a residence, but a lifestyle destination.
“What makes it truly special is the combination of bold architecture, curated amenities and unmatched value,” he said. “Featuring Fort Lauderdale’s and Broward County’s first-ever Equinox, Ombelle places wellness and luxury at the forefront. Its striking exoskeleton design and shifting towers create a distinctive silhouette that sets a new standard for modern living.”
Conclusion
Ombelle is expected to open sometime in 2028, offering a new standard of luxury living in downtown Fort Lauderdale. With its twin towers, high-end amenities, and prime location, Ombelle is set to redefine the city’s skyline and provide a unique lifestyle experience for its residents.
