The defending champion New York Liberty owned WNBA All-Star Friday night.
Liberty guards Natasha Cloud and All-Star Sabrina Ionescu won the 2025 Skills Challenge and 3-Point Contest, respectively, on Friday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, home of the Indiana Fever, in Indianapolis.
It was Ionescu’s second 3-Point Contest title in as many appearances, while Cloud was victorious in her Skills Challenge debut. Ionescu joined Allie Quigley as the only multi-time winners of the 3-Point Contest; Quigley won it four times.
Atlanta Dream All-Star guard Allisha Gray was attempting to go back-to-back in both events. Gray last year became the first player to ever sweep the competitions and just the third player to win each event at least one time overall.
But Gray’s repeat bid in the Skills Challenge came to a quick end as she failed to advance to the final with a time of 39.4 seconds. Seattle Storm All-Star guard Skylar Diggins (44.3 seconds) and Minnesota Lynx All-Star guard Courtney Williams (42 seconds) were also eliminated.
Cloud (34.1 seconds) and Storm guard Erica Wheeler (36.5 seconds) made it through to the final. Wheeler went first and finished in 37.5 seconds, which left Cloud with just enough time to capture the title.
In the 3-Point Contest, Gray and Ionescu — the two former champs in the field — tied for the best Round 1 score at 25 points. That eliminated Los Angeles Sparks All-Star guard Kelsey Plum (22 points), Fever guard Lexie Hull (20 points) and Washington Mystics All-Star guard Sonia Citron (19 points). Hull was a replacement for Fever teammate Caitlin Clark, who withdrew from the event and the All-Star Game due to a groin injury.
Ionescu then delivered a performance in the final similar to her record-breaking victory in 2023 when she made 25 of 27 shots for 37 points — the most by any WNBA or NBA player in 3-Point Contest history. This time around, she put together a stretch of 11 straight makes en route to 30 points.
That was more than enough for Ionescu to reclaim the 3-Point Contest crown as Gray tallied 22 points.
