Pompano Beach Gets Luxury Towers

Must read

Introduction to Pompano Beach’s Luxury Towers

Pompano Beach is undergoing a significant transformation from a sleepy seaside village to a destination for luxury living, with the recent opening of Casamar, a boutique 21-story condo tower, being one of the latest signs of this change. Casamar, located at 900 N. Ocean Boulevard, features 118 high-end homes and marks Miami-based Related Group’s second condo tower in Pompano Beach, following the opening of Solemar in 2023.

The Development of Casamar

Before Related Group developed Casamar, the beachfront site was home to an aging two-story condo building that had been there since 1979. During the grand opening of Casamar, Nick Perez, president of Related’s Condominium Division, spoke about knocking on the doors of every condo owner with an offer to buy them out. This story was no surprise to Mayor Rex Hardin, who attended the grand opening and acknowledged that properties are being redeveloped, with developers buying up older properties, knocking them down, and putting up new towers.

The Impact of Luxury Development on Pompano Beach

The development surge in Pompano Beach has not gone unnoticed by residents, with some loving the new energy the upscale projects are bringing to town, while others are unhappy with the development. Mayor Hardin noted that the city is experiencing growing pains, including issues with traffic, but overall, residents are happy because the city has become a destination, offering new opportunities and amenities. Hardin praised Related for its continued investment in the city’s future, saying that with each new project, they’ve helped raise the bar for design and quality, bringing new energy and economic momentum to the community.

Upcoming Luxury Projects in Pompano Beach

Several luxury projects are in the pipeline for Pompano Beach, including the W Pompano Beach Hotel and Residences, which calls for a 296-key hotel, 77 luxury residences, and nine penthouses, ranging in price from $6.5 million to over $15 million. The Waldorf Astoria Residences Pompano Beach, currently under construction, will feature 92 homes with upscale amenities, including a beachfront cafe, resident lounge, pool, and cabanas. The Ritz-Carlton Residences, also under construction, will feature two buildings with a total of 205 move-in-ready homes and 14 private boat slips.

Other Notable Projects

Other notable projects in Pompano Beach include Armani/Casa, which is still moving through the review process and calls for two 19-story towers with 28 luxury homes. Soleste, an eight-story building with 253 apartments, is now open, while Hillsboro Shores, a 10-story condo with 121 homes, is planned for a vacant parcel. A multi-tiered building ranging from three to eight stories would offer 395 residences at 2400 E. Atlantic Boulevard, and Salato is currently under construction, featuring 40 residences with wide terraces facing the ocean.

Conclusion

Pompano Beach is experiencing a significant transformation, with luxury towers and developments changing the face of the city. While some residents may be unhappy with the development, the city is becoming a destination, offering new opportunities and amenities. With several luxury projects in the pipeline, Pompano Beach is poised to continue its growth and become a hub for luxury living.
