Name Inspiration and Background

Aileron is an aviation term, “referring to the hinged flight control surfaces on an airplane wing,” according to the real estate developer, Lynd. “An aileron aids an aircraft in banking and turning, making the seemingly impossible flight of heavy machinery a graceful and balanced dance in the sky. Similarly, ‘Aileron Residences’ takes the concept of living spaces to new heights. The name signifies an ascent.” David Lynd, CEO of Lynd, said it’s also inspired by Spirit Airlines, whose headquarters are next door, with “beautiful glass buildings that really elevated the area,” and the airport which is about six minutes away.

Unit Sizes and Amenities

The units will range from studios to three bedrooms. No price has been announced yet. There will be a 5,000-square-foot India-inspired spa with features such as Ayurveda, a traditional system of medicine, mud baths and yoga. There will be two pools, one shady and one sunny. There will be co-working spaces, and Paradise Tiki will offer room service. Lynd said the key amenity is how “you get to live the Florida boater lifestyle” because of an arrangement with Vision Marine Electric Boat Rental. Residents will pay a monthly fee for boat rentals.

Replacement and Location Choice

The Dania Beach Offshore boat marina is being replaced by the Aileron development. Miami is simply an expensive place to live, Lynd said. So he aimed for the next best thing, with easy access to Brightline and mass transit. “I searched all the way up and down the coast,” he said. “It’s kind of weird how this area got skipped over.” Lynd said one benefit is residents can “walk out the front door and cross the street” to the 102-acre Dania Pointe residential and entertainment complex, which opened in 2018.

Construction Timeline and Commercial Element

Construction could begin in six to eight months. It is expected to take three years to complete. There will be 20,000 square feet of ground-floor retail. The developer envisions boutiques, primarily restaurants, a dry cleaner, and other services “that benefits the building.”

Conclusion

The Aileron development is set to offer a unique living experience in Dania Beach, with its 17-story building, 380 condos, and luxurious amenities. The development is expected to be completed in three years and will offer a range of unit sizes, from studios to three bedrooms. With its convenient location, luxurious amenities, and commercial element, the Aileron development is an exciting new project in the South Florida real estate market.
