In the arrest report, Anson was at the victim’s home armed with a semi-automatic pistol and tried to get in by knocking on the window. Anson wanted to adjust the thermostat that was in the hallway.
The Incident Unfolds
When the victim opened the front door, Anson, the report states, forced himself into the home and started punching him. He then dragged the victim outside to the backyard and shot him several times in the head, the report said.
Aftermath
After shooting the victim, Anson returned to the home, adjusted the thermostat, and went back to his home, where he called 911 and told dispatchers that he shot the victim in self-defense because he was attacked. The victim, identified as 57-year-old Carlos Alberto Gonzalez, was transported to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Video recorded by a neighbor captured the moment deputies put one man in handcuffs. NBC6 spoke to several residents in the neighborhood who said deputies have shown up to the home before and that something like this was bound to happen. Other residents said they heard three gunshots being fired.

“I was able to recognize that something wrong was happening in my backyard and I was extremely scared,” said Leyani Perez, a resident. “I started screaming and I called my husband, ‘Hey go to the backyard because I feel a stranger is in the backyard.’ Then I heard boom, boom, boom, boom.”
Perez’s home sits behind the suspect’s home.
