A Family’s Legacy: Padrino’s Cuban Restaurant Reimagines Its Hallandale Beach Location

The Hallandale Beach location of Padrino’s Cuban Restaurant, a family-owned boutique chain, has undergone a makeover, blending the old with the new. The third generation of the family, led by Director of Sales and Marketing Laura Padrino Corredoria, spearheaded the project to refresh the decor and menu.

The Design

Corredoria, who has been involved in the design process, aimed to create a unique visual identity for each location. "I have made all of them really different, and that is because I don’t want them to feel like a chain. I always say we’re a collection, not a chain, because we have multiple locations, but we’re also family owned, and we have control over everything, so they’re all slightly different," she explains.

The Hallandale Beach location now features a bright and fun atmosphere with a tropical-themed mural and a half-wall constructed from over 150 cigar-box lids, adding a touch of whimsy to the space.

The Food

The menu has undergone some tweaks, but the core recipes remain unchanged. "It’s super important to us that we prioritize the recipes," Corredoria emphasizes. "They are my grandmother’s recipes. We do not mess with them. They have been the same for 50 years. People like to think of restaurants as chef-led. I say ours are recipe-led. So these are 50-year, time-tested recipes that we would be foolish to mess with at all."

Some new additions include the Cha Cha Chicken Sandwich, which features caramelized onions, mozzarella cheese, and cilantro aioli, and the Tres Leches Cake, which now comes with a selection of toppings.

The Bar

The newly remodeled location also features a contemporary full-service bar, offering handcrafted mojitos and cocktails. The idea is to provide customers with a one-stop-shop for food and drink.

Conclusion

Padrino’s Cuban Restaurant has successfully reimagined its Hallandale Beach location, blending tradition with modernity. The third generation of the family has brought a fresh perspective while maintaining the core values that have made the restaurant a beloved institution.
