The Los Angeles Dodgers have filled their coaching vacancy by hiring Chris Woodward as their new first base coach. Woodward, a former Texas Rangers manager, returns to the Dodgers for his second stint on Dave Roberts\u2019 staff.<\/p>\n
Woodward served as the Dodgers\u2019 third base coach from 2016 to 2018 before being hired as the manager of the Texas Rangers. During his four seasons with the Rangers, he posted a 211-287 record before being fired at the end of the 2022 season. After his departure from Texas, Woodward returned to the Dodgers as a senior advisor in the player development department.<\/p>\n
In his new role, Woodward will take over as the Dodgers\u2019 infield and base-running coach. He will work closely with infielders throughout the organization, including those in the major league and minor league farm system. Third base coach Dino Ebel, who previously oversaw the infield, will now take over outfield coaching responsibilities.<\/p>\n
Woodward replaces former first base coach Clayton McCullough, who was hired as the manager of the Miami Marlins last week.<\/p>\n
