The crash was reported at 2:10 a.m. on East Sixth Street near Mills Avenue, Claremont police and county fire department officials said.

\nThe driver was pronounced dead first, and a passenger was found after the flames were put out, according to broadcast reports. One of the victims was identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office as 52-year-old Rasheed Bledsoe. It was unclear if Bledsoe was the driver or passenger.<\/p>\n
A hazardous materials team was called in to deal with the vehicle fire and its lithium batteries.<\/p>\n
The incident resulted in the loss of two lives and highlights the importance of safe driving practices. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, and more information will be released as it becomes available.<\/p>\n
