Earth Day returns on April 22 and during the global environmental movement people are asked to think about nature and our planet and what they can do to help the world. That could include volunteering to clean up parks or beaches, or just learning more about nature and what you can do to help the planet.<\/p>\n
So with Earth Day coming up, here are 10 things you can do in honor of Earth Day.<\/p>\n
10 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, April 19 at 1367 North California St., San Bernardino. akomaunitycenter.org.
\nThe Center\u2019s celebration will include gardening workshops, kite making classes, face painting and earthworm composting.<\/p>\n
11 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, April 19 at Quail Hill Community Center, 39 Shady Canyon Drive, Irvine. cityofirvine.org.
\nThe celebration will include guided hikes, a composting demo, and demonstrations on solar energy.<\/p>\n
9 a.m.-noon, April 26 at Greenbelt Park, 1500 W 15th St, Upland. uplandca.gov.
\nThe city\u2019s Earth and Arbor Day celebration will include games, educational booths, paper-shredding and E-waster recycling plus mulch and compost giveaways.<\/p>\n
10 a.m.-2 p.m., April 26 at the City Hall Lawn, 77 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa. oclandfills.com.
\nActivities for the day include free compost, talks about plant and animal species in the areas, kids games, raffle prices and tree planting.<\/p>\n

\nThe free community event will feature environmentally themed exhibits, arts and crafts, live music throughout the day as well as a scavenger hunt and food trucks.<\/p>\n
9 a.m.- 5 p.m., April 26-27 at Aquarium of the Pacific, 100 Aquarium Way, Long Beach, aquariumofpacific.org.
\nThis event is created by teens and features booths, displays, and workshops on growing, eating, and distributing food.<\/p>\n
9-10:30 a.m. , Saturday, April 19, and 6:30 p.m.-8 p.m. April 25, at Charmlee Wilderness Park, 2577 Encinal Canyon Rd, Malibu. malibucity.org.
\nThe city is hosting a pair of free docent-led hikes in honor of Earth Day starting on April 19 with \u201cWalking in the Footsteps of the Chumash,\u201d which takes hikers on a 90-minute hike through areas where Native Americans lived. Then on April 25 hikers can check out the trails as the sun goes down with a Sunset Hike through the park.<\/p>\n

\nThe museum\u2019s Earth Day Festival is jammed packed with activities that include a presentation on the science of SpongeBob Squarepants, a plant sale, live animals, live music and a presentation on Monarch butterflies.

\nThe insect fair is always a popular event where kids and adults can see and touch all sorts of bugs like beetles and butterflies. Kids can also learn how to start their own bug collections.<\/p>\n

\nA nature walk, seminars, booths with activities like activities and crafts, local environmental groups and music are planned at this free celebration.<\/p>\n
