Rock for Responders Benefit Concert on February 27
The Pacific Battleship Center is hosting a special benefit concert, "Rock for Responders," on February 27 at the Battleship Iowa Museum in San Pedro. The event is designed to honor Los Angeles County’s first responders, the military, and disaster response agencies.
Free Tickets for First Responders
Tickets are free for first responders and will be distributed in advance by event organizers. Blocks of tickets will be available for sponsors and veterans, with a limited number of individual tickets available for sale to the public. Tickets for the public will cost $75 to $250, and the proceeds will help support disaster recovery efforts through the Pacific Battleship Center’s designation as a nonprofit partner to the Los Angeles Emergency Management Department. Event Details
The event will take place in the parking lot area alongside the USS Iowa, a World War II battleship that is now a museum attraction docked at 250 S. Harbor Blvd. The concert will feature an "epic classic rock concert" with Kings of Chaos, a band featuring rock icons Sammy Hagar, Robin Zander, Glenn Hughes, Matt Sorum, Orianthi, Carmine Rojas, and Brent Woods. Local food trucks will also be on site.
Special Guests and Appearances
Actor/comedian and U.S. Air Force veteran BJ Lange will serve as the master of ceremonies, and ABC News’ chief national correspondent, Matt Gutman, will make a special appearance.
Disaster Recovery and Resilience Collective
The event will also announce more details about the LA Disaster Recovery and Resilience Collective, a yet-to-be-launched program of the battleship museum that will focus on disaster recovery.
