Project Details

The third-of-an-acre site would feature 150 studio and one-bedroom apartments, with 4,500 square feet of ground-floor shops and restaurants. The building would also have parking for 11 cars. The developer would use the mayor’s Executive Directive 1 (ED1) to streamline approval for affordable housing. Additionally, Akhamzadeh would employ density bonus incentives to build a larger building than zoning rules allow. All the apartments would be set aside for low- to moderate-income households.

Design and Location

The project is designed by Metropolitan Architecture, a firm responsible for numerous ED1 projects. The plain white and black building would have two cut-outs on its upper three floors, and floor-to-ceiling windows on the ground floor, according to a rendering. The project site is near Apple’s new campus under construction on Venice Boulevard, as well as Culver City Station and Warner Bros. Discovery’s offices.
