Jeremy Piven Seeks $10 Million for LA Home
Actor Lists 6,000-Square-Foot Contemporary Home in Hollywood Hills
Actor Jeremy Piven is looking to move from his perch high up in the Hollywood Hills neighborhood of Mount Olympus.
Piven, known for playing Hollywood agent Ari Gold in the HBO series “Entourage,” put his home on the market Thursday, according to sources with knowledge of the matter. He’s asking $9.5 million for the more than 6,000-square-foot pad.
Carl Gambino and John Bercsi of The Gambino Group at Compass have the listing at 2008 Hercules Drive. Neither responded to requests for comment.
Property Details
The four-bed, five-bath contemporary home was built in 1980 on about a third of an acre, according to the listing.
It sits above Sunset Boulevard and has a motor court, infinity pool, fire pit, two-story glass conservatory and city views, per marketing materials for the home.
Profit Potential
If the home sells for Piven’s ask, the three-time Emmy Award winner would walk away with a sizable profit after paying $6.8 million for the property in 2017. However, he’d be on the hook for paying the City of Los Angeles’ Measure ULA transfer tax of 4 percent. The tax, which applies to commercial and residential deals, is tiered with the levy creeping up to 5.5 percent on deals of $10.3 million or more. In Piven’s case, the assessment would be roughly $380,000.
Recent Sales in the Area
Hollywood Hills’ more recent on-market trades include the sale of 1424 Tanager Way for $10.3 million earlier this month. Located in the Bird Streets neighborhood, the Paul McClean-designed home counts four beds and four baths across 5,350 square feet.
There was also 1800 Marcheeta Place, which sold for $26.7 million. The six-bed, nine-bath home spans over 12,000 square feet and traded hands just a few days before the end of 2024.
