Wonderfront Music & Arts Festival (San Diego)

The highly anticipated Wonderfront Music & Arts Festival is back for a three-day celebration of music, art, and community. Set across multiple iconic locations including Embarcadero Marina Park North, Seaport Village, and Ruocco Park, this festival brings an eclectic mix of genres from dance, rock, electronic, indie, to soul. 38th Annual Avalon Silent Film Showcase at Catalina Museum for Art & History (Avalon)

Celebrate classic cinema with the 38th Annual Avalon Silent Film Showcase, featuring rare screenings, live music, and expert commentary across two iconic Avalon venues. On May 16, enjoy a 3-D screening of Creature From the Black Lagoon (1954) under the stars at the Ackerman Family Amphitheater, complete with complimentary 3-D glasses. 18th Annual Day of Black Docs (L.A.)

The 18th Annual Day of Black Docs returns with a two-day mini film festival celebrating Black documentary filmmakers and stories that center the Black experience. The event includes an opening reception with a panel on Love, Resistance, and Power at Film Independent on May 16, followed by a full day of screenings, Q&As, and panel discussions at the American Film Institute campus on May 17. Films featured include We Want the Funk, Billy Preston: That’s the Way God Planned It, It Was All A Dream, and Shepherd’s Calling. Tickets range from $18 to $50, with reserved seating and combo options available.
