The wait is finally over for the Montrose location of Nando\u2019s Peri-Peri, a South Africa-based grilled chicken restaurant. This new outpost is the third Houston-area location for the popular chain, which has already gained a loyal following in Uptown and Katy.<\/p>\n
Located in the historic Tower Theater complex at 1201 Westheimer, the new Nando\u2019s offers a unique and vibrant dining experience. The restaurant’s interior is filled with stunning artwork sourced from the company’s Creative Block program in partnership with the Spier Arts Trust. Some of the notable features include a textural installation above the bar, a striking South African mural near the entrance, and eye-catching furniture.<\/p>\n
Nando’s is famous for its signature chicken, which is marinated for 24 hours in peri-peri and other spices. Diners can order their chicken in a variety of ways, including bowls made with Portuguese rice and vegetables, the Nandocas Choice, a butterflied chicken breast served over garlic bread with coleslaw, a half-chicken with fries, as well as skewers, salads, and wraps. To cater to different tastes, Nando’s offers a range of spice levels, from mild to wild.<\/p>\n
According to Nando’s CEO Kimberly Grant, the decision to open a third location in Houston was a natural next step in the company’s growth. "The love Houston has shown us has been incredible, so opening a third Nando\u2019s here felt like the natural next step in our growth," she said. "Montrose has that perfect mix of culture, energy, and soul \u2014 and setting up a beautifully designed space in the iconic Tower Theater block just felt right."<\/p>\n
The Tower Theater complex, where Nando’s is located, has a rich history and is currently undergoing redevelopment. Houston developer Radom Capital purchased the complex and adjacent properties at 1111 Westheimer in 2024. In addition to Nando’s, the complex will also house Doc Houston’s, a jazz club from the owners of San Antonio\u2019s Jazz, TX, which is expected to open in late 2025.<\/p>\n
