A man is in custody after police say he fired a gun during a domestic disturbance, then barricaded himself inside a La Porte home Thursday evening. The incident happened around 6 p.m. in the 11600 block of N. P Street.

According to La Porte police, 42-year-old Christopher Clinton Hinds fired a handgun at two adults outside the residence before running inside. No injuries were reported. Police established a perimeter and called in the Bay Area Regional SWAT team. After several hours, Hinds was taken into custody without further incident.
Charges and Arrest
Hinds is facing two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. He was booked into the La Porte Jail and is awaiting transfer to the Harris County Jail.
