Little Dreamer Coffee Brings Good Vibes to Montrose
Renowned coffee roaster, barista, and coffee shop owner Matt Toomey has opened the doors to a new brick and mortar outpost of Little Dreamer Coffee in Montrose, taking over the former Inversion/Canary space at 1953 Montrose Blvd.
A New Chapter for Little Dreamer
As the founder of Heights staple Boomtown Coffee, Toomey created Little Dreamer in 2020. The coffee shop initially occupied a kiosk at the Stomping Grounds development in Garden Oaks, but it closed after a couple of years. Toomey is thrilled to be back in action with a new location, feeling optimistic about the new chapter.

The Perfect Blend
Toomey’s passion for coffee is evident in the high-quality beans he still roasts himself, such as the Ozolotepec from Oaxaca and his house blend designed for espresso. The coffee shop also makes all of its syrups and sauces in-house, with the salted butterscotch being a fan favorite.
A Taste of Heaven
“It’s an unctuous, thick sauce,” Toomey says of the salted butterscotch. “It’s got a weight and texture. It’s sweet and buttery. We top it with pink Himalayan sea salt. It’s really good.”
Pies and More
Little Dreamer will be pairing its coffees with sweet and savory pies, baked in-house and sourced from local bakers, including CultureMap Tastemaker Awards winner Jane Wild, Little Kitchen, and Red Dessert Dive. To celebrate its grand opening on March 14, aka Pi(e) Day, the coffee shop will be offering a variety of pies.

Toomey is excited to finally be able to serve people on a daily basis, creating a space that is welcoming and positive. “I want to create a space where people feel that good energy,” he says. “That’s my schtick. Keep things positive. Keep things flowing. I think it’s evident in the things I do.”
