Home Invasion Arrests in Houston

At least five men have been arrested and charged in connection with a string of home-invasion-style aggravated robberies in Houston, Texas. The suspects, identified as Kevin Alexander Parada, 21, Roberto Guevara, 24, William Alexander Flores, 23, Miguel Angel Flores-Magana, 40, and Arturo Diaz Esparza, 24, face charges of aggravated robbery and aggravated kidnapping.

The Investigation

The investigation into the group of home invasion suspects began after a home-invasion-style robbery took place on Friday, March 15, 2024. According to court documents, eight men, wearing gloves, masks, and carrying guns, forced their way into a home located on Eldridge Valley Drive around 5 a.m. The homeowner reported that he was attacked by the masked men, who hit him in the head with a gun, and then forced their way into his home, where his wife and child were.

The Home Invasion

The suspects gathered the husband, wife, and child together at their kitchen table while they searched through the home, looking for money and jewelry. They found a safe and attempted to force the husband to open it, but when he couldn’t, the man said he was threatened and beaten. The suspects were inside the home for at least 45 minutes, getting away with two safes, jewelry, and credit cards, estimated at $4,000, before locking the family of three inside a closet.

Connection to a Larger Burglary Ring

While investigating the home invasion, court documents reveal that the Harris County Sheriff’s Office learned about a Houston-based burglary ring targeting Asian homes from police in Plano, Texas. A detective in Plano put Houston deputies in touch with someone claiming to know one of the men involved in the home invasion. Deputies also learned about a second home invasion that occurred in February 2024, where at least three of the suspects arrested were involved in a home invasion, and the homeowner reported that his safe was stolen when a group of men broke into his home, stealing $170,000.

Ongoing Investigation

Although five men have been arrested so far, investigators with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office believe that at least eight men have been involved in the string of home invasions throughout Houston and Harris County. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to identify and apprehend the remaining suspects.

Conclusion

The arrests of the five men in connection with the home-invasion-style aggravated robberies in Houston bring a sense of relief to the community. However, the ongoing investigation highlights the need for continued vigilance and cooperation between law enforcement agencies to combat crime and keep residents safe. As the investigation continues, it is essential for the community to remain informed and report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
