|<\/span><\/p>\n Updated Apr. 22, 2025 at 4:37 p.m. CDT<\/p>\n |<\/span><\/p>\n A judge on Monday refused to reduce the multimillion-dollar bond for the 17-year-old accused of shooting at least four people at Wilmer-Hutchins High School in Dallas last week. <\/p>\n Tracy Haynes Jr., 17, is being held in Dallas County jail and is facing six charges of aggravated assault mass shooting. According to the Dallas County District Attorney\u2019s office and jail records, Haynes\u2019 total bond is $3.1 million. <\/p>\n However, Haynes\u2019 defense attorney Temani Adams told The Dallas Morning News on Monday afternoon that one of the charges \u2014 with a $600,000 bond \u2014 is being recalled, making his actual total bond roughly $2.5 million.<\/p>\n On April 15, officers were dispatched at about 1 p.m. to the school in the 5500 block of Langdon Road in southern Dallas. Active call logs for Dallas police show that at least 60 units responded to the scene. <\/p>\n According to an arrest-warrant affidavit, Haynes was seen on surveillance footage entering the school through a door after an unidentified student opened it for him. Haynes then walked through the hallways until he spotted several male students.<\/p>\n Haynes then displayed a firearm and opened fire \u201cindiscriminately,\u201d striking multiple students before approaching one student \u201cwho was not able to run.\u201d Haynes then appeared to take a \u201cpoint-blank\u201d shot, the affidavit said.<\/p>\n Haynes turned himself in to police that night. <\/p>\n Adams said Haynes\u2019 aunt \u2014 who other outlets have identified as Cassandra Griffin \u2014 testified during the bond reduction hearing Monday morning.<\/p>\n Griffin said Haynes informed her about a group of men who were part of a violent gang and kept telling her \u2018they\u2019re going to kill me,\u2019 Adams told The News. She said the family also had been receiving threats from that group. <\/p>\n Allegedly, one of the students who was shot during the incident was a part of the gang, Adams said.<\/p>\n Last week\u2019s gunfire at Wilmer-Hutchins High School occurred barely a year after another shooting took place there.
