Officials responded to reports of a shooting at 10:06 a.m. in the 600 block of Stafford Circle, the statement said.<\/p>\n
Investigators arrived at the home and found the woman with a gunshot wound to her abdomen. She was transported to the hospital in critical condition.<\/p>\n
Police said Stephen Boewe, 80, shot the woman inside their home before going to a neighbor\u2019s house to report the incident, the statement said.<\/p>\n
Boewe was arrested and faces one first-degree felony charge of aggravated assault with family violence, police said.<\/p>\n
As of Tuesday morning, Boewe remains in the Rockwall County jail with a bail amount set at $1 million, according to jail records.<\/p>\n
