A Fort Worth mansion built for a Texas Rangers co-owner has sold at auction.<\/p>\n

The winning bid for 9553 Bella Terra Drive was $6.72 million, according to Concierge Auctions. Bidding on the property started Dec. 10 and ended Thursday.<\/p>\n

The castle-like home within the gated Montserrat neighborhood had been recently listed for $11.75 million, and Concierge expected bids to start between $4 million and $6.5 million.<\/p>\n

The buyer was not disclosed. There were three bidders vying for the property. The deal is expected to close after the end of the year.<\/p>\n

The home was built for and once belonged to Bob Simpson, a Fort Worth energy legend and co-owner of the Texas Rangers. Simpson was part of the ownership group that purchased the Major League Baseball franchise in 2010.<\/p>\n
