<\/p>\nU.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett had something nice to say about her GOP colleague Marjorie Taylor Greene.<\/p>\n
Crockett said she appreciates Greene, R-Ga., for \u201csounding the alarm\u201d about the looming health insurance premium hikes that could affect millions of Americans.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe\u2019s telling the truth. It\u2019s not a conspiracy theory,\u201d Crockett said during a joint interview Thursday with The Dallas Morning News and KXAS-TV (NBC 5). \u201cIt may have taken her own sons before she could see the light, but nevertheless, she sees the light, and I appreciate it. I appreciate that she\u2019s not just seeing it in private, but she is ringing the alarm.<\/p>\n
\u201cHealth care, it\u2019s a nonpartisan thing, so the fact that she is speaking out against them, they\u2019re not happy, but she\u2019s telling the truth for once, and I have to give credit where credit is due,\u201d Crockett said.<\/p>\n
Greene has said her party\u2019s leadership is not prioritizing issues that mattered to average Americans, including her \u201cadult children\u201d and the constituents in her northwest Georgia district.<\/p>\n
If Congress doesn\u2019t act, enhanced Affordable Care Act premium tax credits will expire at the end of the year and raise insurance rates for millions of Americans. Democrats say the Affordable Care Act premium tax credit issue must be resolved as a condition for their votes to reopen the government. Republicans want a straight extension and House Speaker Mike Johnson won\u2019t bring the House back into session until Senate Democrats approve a stopgap measure.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m going to go against everyone on this issue because when the tax credits expire this year my own adult children\u2019s insurance premiums for 2026 are going to DOUBLE, along with all the wonderful families and hard-working people in my district,\u201d Greene wrote on X. \u201cNo I\u2019m not towing the party line on this, or playing loyalty games. I\u2019m a Republican and won\u2019t vote for illegals to have any tax payer funded healthcare or benefits.\u201d<\/p>\n
Greene added: \u201cI\u2019m AMERICA ONLY!!!\u201d<\/p>\n

Crockett said other Republicans should follow Greene\u2019s lead. <\/p>\n
\u201cI encourage others to have that much courage, because the numbers are clear,\u201d Crockett said. \u201cThe vast majority of the people that are going to be most detrimentally impacted are in Republican districts.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked if it was possible to join forces with Greene to bring a resolution to the issue \u2014 and perhaps the shutdown, Crockett was dubious.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t know about that,\u201d Crockett said. \u201cI don\u2019t know that our parties are that interested in listening to either one of us, if I\u2019m honest, but, I do think that it is telling about some of the pressures that may be bubbling up.\u201d<\/p>\n
