Grapevine Mills is getting a new attraction that lets kids try their hands at excavating — and it’s a first for North Texas.
The mall is adding what’s called Dig World, a construction-themed adventure park in Texas that lets children and their families operate real, full-sized construction equipment. The machines are modified to make them safe for kids to use, according to a statement.
The park, expected to open in early 2026, will partner with North Texas’ Dude Perfect and feature construction-inspired trick-shot attractions, with plans to expand nationwide following Grapevine Mills’ opening, it said.

Grapevine Mills, which recently received national accolades as a top 10 mall, is another shopping hub that’s bringing more activities to attract customers with more than store options. For example, Galleria Dallas is set to get a Netflix attraction before the end of this year that will feature activities around Stranger Things and Squid Game.
Grapevine Mills, a Simon property, already has buttressed its offerings with attractions that include Legoland Discovery Center and Meow Wolf, which offers immersive art experiences.
“Grapevine Mills has become a premier destination for immersive entertainment,” said Joe Szymaszek, general manager at Grapevine Mills, in a statement. ”We’re thrilled to welcome Dig World to the mix as it brings a whole new level of hands-on, family-friendly fun to our center.”
Dig World earlier this year gained some national notoriety after co-founder Jacob Robinson pitched his company on Shark Tank, the popular television show that lets entrepreneurs present their ideas to potential investors. Robinson saw an opportunity for the theme park as a father to Pierce, who lives with significant special needs due to suffering from bacterial meningitis as a young boy. His son has always been mesmerized by construction equipment, and Robinson saw an opportunity to create a park where kids could operate the equipment.
The first Dig World will be in the Houston area, and the Grapevine Mills locale will be the second for the company.
