Through the first 26 days of the month, June’s hottest temperature was 95 degrees, reached twice. The region may hit that temperature a third time Saturday before climbing higher.

Friday and Saturday are forecast to be quite average, with highs in the mid-90s and a few clouds breaking up the sunshine. The heat index is predicted to climb a little higher Saturday, reaching 101 degrees compared to Friday’s 98.
Scattered showers to the north along the Texas-Oklahoma border are also possible Friday. That precipitation is not expected to reach most of the metro area.
