New Aldi Store Coming to Frisco, Texas
A northern area of Frisco that’s seen a lot of retail growth is slated for yet another grocer, but this time it comes in a smaller package.
Aldi — which offers private labels and small retail footprints — is planning a new site for the North Texas city, according to Scott Huska, regional vice president at Aldi, in an emailed statement.
“We are excited to confirm that we are making headway on a new store in Frisco,” Huska said.
Location and Accessibility
The new store is set for Hollyhock Road, which connects to Highway 380, and also would be close to the city of Prosper, another growing city in North Texas.
This location is ideal for Aldi, as it will provide easy access to customers in the area and contribute to the growth of the local economy.

Aldi’s History and Growth
Aldi began more than a century ago in Germany and is in growth mode as it looks to get closer to more potential customers. In February, it said that it would open over 225 store locations this year, partly through an acquisition deal for Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarket and also with organic growth.
This expansion is a testament to Aldi’s commitment to providing affordable and high-quality products to its customers, while also creating new job opportunities and stimulating local economic growth.
Aldi in Texas
In Texas, Aldi has more than 125 stores, making it one of the biggest states for the company. It has several stores throughout the greater Dallas-Fort Worth region, stretching from cities such as Sherman to Waxahachie. It also has one store in Frisco on Preston Road and in nearby Little Elm on 423.
Competition and Market Presence
The new store on Hollyhock Road would place it in an active retail area that includes big names such as Kroger, H-E-B, Home Depot, Academy Sports and a planned Walmart. It’s also not far from the new Costco on 380 in Prosper.
This strategic location will allow Aldi to compete with other major retailers in the area, while also offering its unique brand of affordable and high-quality products to customers.
