In 2026, Athlos will shift to a team-based model. The shift is similar to Michael Johnson’s Grand Slam Track league, which debuted in 2025, in that it will have meets at different major cities. This new model will provide more opportunities for female track athletes to compete and gain exposure.

Richardson opened her 2025 track season at the Seiko Golden Grand Prix in Tokyo, Japan, on May 18, where she ran 11.47 seconds in the women’s 100m for fourth place. The 25-year-old sprinting phenom is coming off a season in 2024 that saw her take home a silver medal in the women’s 100m and anchor the U.S. to a gold medal in the women’s 4x100m at the Paris Olympics.
