Daikerlyn Alejandra Gonzalez Gonzalez, 21, was identified in the post as the suspect in the death of Ava Moore, 18. Her arrest came after police released a photo of her taken by a member of the public following the accident.

The woman is an undocumented immigrant from Venezuela, according to a news release from Attorney General Ken Paxton issued after her arrest.

The Grapevine Fire Department responded to the lake at about 5:20 p.m. Sunday near Oak Grove Park, where first responders found a kayak had been hit by a jet ski with two female occupants.

The jet ski’s passenger stayed on scene and talked with first responders, but the jet ski driver fled from the scene with Maikel Coello Perozo, 21, according to Grapevine police. While leaving the scene, the jet ski driver and the man allegedly struck a car in the parking lot, authorities said.

Perozo is also an undocumented immigrant, according to Paxton’s news release. It said he was arrested, but it did not say which country he is from.
