Unseasonable Weather in North Texas
In a pleasant twist, the temperature didn’t climb as high on Wednesday as expected. Meteorologists with the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office had previously forecast that much of North Texas would hit 100 degrees Wednesday, an early arrival for that milestone. Instead, cloud cover was denser than expected and kept temperatures in the low to mid-90s all day Wednesday, the weather service said.
Despite not breaking the daily record temperature for Dallas-Fort Worth, the metro area’s high was still about 10 degrees above normal for mid-May on Wednesday. Those above normal temperatures are expected to continue Thursday and through the weekend. Thursday and Friday are also expected to see highs in that low- to mid-90s range, with significant cloud cover forecast both days.
