Richard Rawlings’ New Restaurant: Gas Monkey Icehouse
Former Fast N’ Loud gearhead Richard Rawlings will open Gas Monkey Icehouse in Dallas-Fort Worth on May 6, 2025.
It’ll be the newest addition in Grandscape, the development financed in part by billionaire Warren Buffett’s company Berkshire Hathaway in The Colony. Grandscape is anchored by Nebraska Furniture Mart on State Highway 121.
Background and History
The nearly-ready restaurant follows through with a promise Rawlings made in 2024, to bring his Gas Monkey empire back to Texas after Gas Monkey Live closed in 2020 and Gas Monkey Bar N’ Grill went under new ownership and changed names in 2021.
“We’re proud to bring the Gas Monkey concept back in a big way,” he said in a statement in April 2025.

Rawlings opened Gas Monkey Bar & Grill in Sturgis, S.D., in 2024. The Grandscape restaurant marks Rawlings’ re-entrance into restaurants in his home state of Texas.

Restaurant Details and Features
The restaurant in The Colony has the Alamo painted on part of the exterior. It replaces LSA Burger, a massive, two-story restaurant with a patio we called “seriously Texan” when it opened in 2022. LSA Burger moved and reopened at new Grandscape address in February 2025. (It replaced LSA sibling restaurant Barley and Board, now closed.)

Partnership and Menu
Rawlings partnered with Reach Hospitality, the Dallas-based company that most recently opened Design District steakhouse Evelyn.
Aha: So that’s why Rawlings sipped Evelyn’s $150 martini when it opened.
Reach CEO Rich Hicks and his team also operate high-end Design District spot The Mexican, pizza joint Pie Tap and a restaurant near American Airlines Center, Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer.
Gas Monkey Icehouse will look distinctly like a Rawlings restaurant, with its black and white Gas Monkey mascot on the wall, green neon behind it.

Gas Monkey Icehouse is a casual spot. The menu calls for burgers, pizzas, nachos and beer.
