Widespread showers will linger in North Texas through much of Friday, with storms forecast to follow this weekend.
According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, numerous rain showers and isolated thunderstorms will continue to dampen the region well into Friday evening, with heavier rainfall expected along and south of Interstate 20, and along and east of Interstate 35.

Dallas-Fort Worth could accumulate anywhere from 0.5 to 1.50 inches of rain, weather officials said, but no severe conditions are expected.

Cooler temperatures and clearing skies overnight will lead to patchy fog by Saturday morning, particularly along and east of the I-35 corridor.

Saturday afternoon will then turn sunny and warm, with temperatures expected to rise into the high 80s and low 90s. An elevated fire threat west of US-281 is also expected as a result.
After sundown Saturday evening, the weather service said there’s a “conditional threat” in portions of North and Central Texas for storms, which could also become strong or severe if they are able to form.

Another chance for strong to severe thunderstorms comes to D-FW Sunday, mainly east of Interstate-35.
Large hail and damaging winds would be the main concerns, according to the weather service. It added that there is also a low tornado threat.
At the same time, the weather service said parts of western North and Central Texas could face elevated fire threats due to high winds and low humidity.
